Today, on 10 October 2025, we join the global community in observing World Mental Health Day a moment to reaffirm our collective commitment to mental well-being, especially for the youth whose voices and futures depend on emotional resilience, support, and nurturing.
At M&G Research, mental wellness is not a peripheral concern: it is a strategic imperative. In line with that conviction, we are proud to spotlight our Mental Wellness Campaign, an initiative specifically designed to support high school learners and university students as they navigate the challenges, uncertainties, and pressures of their academic journey.
Why this Matters
Adolescence and young adulthood are critical periods in the development of mental health, as many mental health disorders often emerge during these formative years. Academic stress, social pressures, financial strain, and uncertainty about the future frequently intensify these challenges. Both globally and locally, young people continue to face significant barriers to seeking help, including mental health stigma, limited access to counselling services, and inadequate mental health literacy. By intervening early through awareness, education, supportive systems, and the creation of safe spaces, it becomes possible to mitigate the negative effects of poor mental health on learners’ academic performance, social relationships, and overall life trajectories.
A Message to Learners, Educators & Stakeholders
- To learners, you are not alone in your struggles. It is a sign of strength, not weakness, to seek help, talk about how you feel, and lean on allies.
- To educators and school leaders, your role is pivotal. Fostering a culture of psychological safety and emotional awareness transforms how learners engage, learn, and thrive.
- To parents, caregivers & policy makers, your investment, whether moral, financial, or systemic, is crucial. Young minds deserve more than sporadic interventions; they need comprehensive support systems.
On this World Mental Health Day, we reaffirm M&G Research’s unwavering commitment to the mental well-being of our youth. Our campaign is more than a gesture: it is a call to action for institutions, communities, and every individual to stand together in fostering environments where young people can flourish not in spite of their mental health challenges, but with confidence, dignity, and support.

Let us celebrate today but more importantly, let us act every day.
