M&G Research is proud to announce its Mental Wellness campaign partnership with Mowat Park High School. This significant project is an initiative by M&G Research aimed at raising awareness about the importance of mental health and well-being among high school learners.
The M&G Research team found the existing presence of unaddressed mental health issues among high schoolers which contributes to the numerous adverse outcomes which are including of poor academic performance and heightened vulnerability to substance abuse.
Additionally, the campaign recognises the vital role of educators as the project also focuses on the mental wellness and personal development of the school’s staff. The campaign ensures that educators are well-equipped to understand and effectively address mental health challenges within the school environment through engaging seminar workshop.
Siboniso Malinga, the Mental Wellness Campaign lead at M&G Research, stated, “Mental health is of paramount importance among high school learners as they encounter various challenges that pose a threat to their well-being.”
Additionally, Miss Ngidi, the principal of Mowat Park, warmly welcomed the initiative, highlighting the existing gap in addressing mental health issues among the Mowat Park learners.
This will be an ongoing campaign between M&G Research and the Mowat Park High School. The campaign will feature multiple seminars and workshops primarily forMowat Park learners. The campaign objective is to enhance the academic performance of the learners, improve the learners’ emotional resilience, and foster stronger peer relationships within the school environment.
